How does We Wear Us work?

For a specific date, you can rent an outfit from our collection of designer wear.

To rent for a specific date:

Find It: Browse our collection of Indo-Western outfits to find the best look for your occasion. We’ll be adding new styles every month, so follow us on Instagram (@wewearus) to stay updated on the latest. We know different events call for different looks. Check out our Style Glossary as a reference to understand which outfits are compatible with specific events.

Reserve It: Choose a delivery date and return date, and rent for 4 or 8 days.

Receive It: The outfit can be picked up at a partnering location or delivered via UPS to your home, office, or hotel by 8pm on your delivery date. If you choose to get the outfit delivered, Please make sure you provide a secure address.

Return It: Returns are free! Place items in the provided packaging or a clean, 12x12x12 cardboard box. A pre-paid return label will be emailed to you (per order). Take the packaging to a UPS store by 12pm on your rental return date. We’ll handle the dry cleaning.

How does the rental process work?

Our rentals are 4 or 8-day reservations. Given that we’re new and building our inventory selection, we highly recommend you book your order months in advance. Also, we recommend you book your order to arrive 1-2 days prior to your event to ensure you have plenty of time to accessorize. Here’s the low-down:

Day 1 - Receive your outfit and try it on 
Day 2 - Find the right accessories for the look
Day 3 - Wear it (and turn a few heads while you’re at it) at your event
Day 4 - Return your rental at your nearest UPS location no later than 12pm

What if I accidentally stain or damage the dress?

We understand that some wear and tear may be inevitable, so the $5 insurance fee covers minor stains and damage. Wear and tear includes: minor stains, minor tears, missing beads, or dirty edges. However, significant damage and theft aren’t covered under the insurance. If the item is damaged beyond repair, the fee is the retail price of the item. If the item is never returned, the fee is double the retail price of the item.

When will my credit card be charged?

You’re charged at the time you make your reservation.

What is the security deposit? Will I get it back?

For certain outfits, we collect a security deposit in the amount of 20% of the retail price of the item. This deposit will be refundable once the item is returned and passes our quality check. After the outfit passes our quality check, the security deposit will be automatically credited to your card on file within 7 business days. Only if the outfit is damaged beyond repair will we notify you via email and charge your card the applicable fees.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, we do! In order to be eligible for a refund, you must notify us immediately shortly after delivery. Please email hello@wewearus.com for details.

    Do you ship internationally?

    At this time, we only ship orders within the U.S., including Hawaii and Alaska. Orders must also be returned from within the U.S.

    Can I alter or tailor the outfit myself?

    No, you cannot tailor the outfit yourself! However, you can visit our showroom to come and try on an outfit. We have a tailor on site to make adjustments in specific areas of the outfit. Email us directly for more details - hello@wewearus.com. 

    Do I need to dry clean the outfit myself before or after wearing it?

    We do our best to ensure your outfits arrive wrinkle-free. Each outfit is cleaned using a variety of techniques specific to the fabric and embellishments of the outfit. If you receive an outfit with slight creases, please try steaming (not ironing) the outfit from a distance on low heat. If you’re unsure, please contact us at hello@wewearus.com directly for advice.

    After wearing the outfit, you do not need to clean the outfit at all. In fact, we strongly advise that you do not. Please follow the return instructions, and send the outfit back on the last day of your rental period!

    How are the outfits cleaned?

    We take the process of cleaning outfits very seriously. Certain areas of an outfit need more attention than others - we get it. Fabrics vary by outfit, so different cleaning techniques apply to different outfits. Our team uses a variety of techniques to ensure that each outfit is dry cleaned and steamed thoroughly so that it’s ready for you to wear.

     

    The Rental Process

    How far in advance do I need to reserve an outfit?

    As we recently launched We Wear Us, we have a limited number of units per style, and continue to order additional units based on demand. Once you reserve an item, we’ll receive a notification of your request. We’ll either confirm or deny your request based on inventory availability.  If we deny your request, you will not be charged!

    This being said, we highly recommend you reserve an outfit as far in advance as possible. You can book a reservation up to 12 months in advance, and schedule your order to arrive 1-2 days before your event.

    We understand that last-minute planning is real. If you need to place an order a month or less in advance, please contact us at hello@wewearus.com, and we’ll do our best to make it happen!

    What if the outfit I want to reserve is unavailable?

    If an outfit you want to reserve is unavailable for a given date, it’s most likely sold out for that date. However - we’re in the business of making dreams happen, so in certain circumstances, we may be able to order another unit, or provide an equivalent style. Please contact us at hello@wewearus.com.

    What time will my outfit arrive?

    Deliveries are made between 8am and 10pm during weekdays and Saturdays. We provide tracking information so you can see when your package is out for delivery.

    If you choose to pick up your outfit from one of our partnering locations, you can pick up the outfit on the day prior to your delivery date. We'll email you with detailed instructions. 

    Can you deliver to a hotel or another address besides my home?

    You bet! If you’re shipping to a hotel, please provide the hotel name and reservation guest name in the shipping fields. Please make sure the hotel concierge is expecting your delivery, and coordinate with them accordingly.

    As a reminder, a secure shipping address is highly recommended. “Secure” in this context is defined as a location where an individual can physically receive product(s). In the event that you provide an un-secure shipping address, WWU will not bear the liability for product(s) left attended. You will be liable for lost or stolen packages.

    Is a signature required for delivery?

    While we do not require a signature for delivery, it is up to the carrier’s discretion whether or not they feel the package is safe to leave at an address without someone available to sign for the order.

    If you are not available at your shipping address, or your shipping address involves a lobby that is not monitored, your order could be left with a neighbor, doorman, mail room, or front desk. It is your responsibility, however, to provide a delivery address that you believe is the most secure. Please be mindful of this! The shipping carrier and WWU are not responsible for lost or stolen packages.

    How long will it take to process the refund of the security deposit?

    The refundable security deposit will be automatically credited to your card on file within 7 business days. Please allow 7 business days for your credit to process.

    What cities do you deliver to?

    We service every city in the United States!

    Can you deliver to my country if I pay for international shipping duties & charges?

    We can’t make any guarantees, but we’re happy to give it our best shot! Please contact us at hello@wewearus.com and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours.

    How do I package my outfit properly for return?

    Ideally, please package your outfit in the packaging that you received your order. If you want to keep the packaging or if you lose the packaging, you will need to package your outfit(s) in a clean, 12x12x12 (or larger) cardboard box. Please carefully package the outfit in a way that you would for a close friend.

    Drop off your order at a local UPS store with the prepaid label provided to you via email.

    Can I track my return?

    Yes! Once UPS processes your return, you will be able to track your return via the tracking ID provided to you. Visit UPS.com to enter tracking information and receive updates. Once we receive your rental, you will receive a confirmation of the return via email.  

     

    Renting for Brides & Bridesmaids

    Do you rent bridesmaids outfits?

    Sadly, not yet. But stay tuned!

    Do you rent wedding outfits for brides specifically?

    Unfortunately, no. We do, however, rent items for brides for the wedding events surrounding the wedding - specifically engagement shoots, the Mehendi, the Sangeet, and related events. Please keep in mind that we do not alter our garments for custom fits. To learn more about our beta bridal program, please contact us directly at hello@wewearus.com.  

     

    We Wear Us Policy

    When do I need to return my outfit?

    Our rentals are 4 or 8-day reservations. Here’s the low-down:

    Day 1 - Receive your outfit and try it on
    Day 2 - Find the right accessories for the look
    Day 3 - Wear it (and turn a few heads while you’re at it) at your event
    Day 4 - Return your rental at your nearest UPS location no later than 12pm
    If you chose an 8-day rental, return your rental on Day 8 of your reservation.

      How do I use merchandise credit?

      After your order has been canceled, we'll send you a unique code that can be used for any future purchase. Credits never expire!

      What if the outfit(s) I ordered don’t fit?

      We know fit is a big deal. Especially for South Asian attire.

      Which is why we offer custom fitting at partnering locations. You can get your chosen outfit fitted to your size so that there are no surprises. You will need to visit one of our partnering locations to do so, so please allow plenty of time before your scheduled event.

      How much does shipping cost?

      Standard Shipping - $19.95. This charge will be applied during checkout.

      Can I keep or purchase an outfit that I am currently renting?

      Yes! Though we can’t make any promises, we’ll do our best. Contact us at hello@wewearus.com.

      Update my Upcoming Order

      Can I reschedule my delivery date?

      If you need to reschedule your delivery date, please email us. We can’t make any promises, but we’ll try our best to accommodate your date change!

      Can I cancel my order?

      You may cancel your rental order prior to 14 days of your delivery date for a full store credit to your WWU account. If you cancel your rental order prior to 14 days of your delivery date, you will receive full store credit to your WWU account for the rental fee associated with the cancelled order. This credit can be applied to any future WWU rental. If you cancel your order within 14 days of your delivery date, you will still receive a full credit to your WWU account, but will be charged a twenty five dollar ($25.00) cancellation fee, along with applicable shipping costs and sales taxes. The twenty five dollar ($25.00) cancellation fee and any applicable costs will be deducted from your store credit. For instance, if WWU has already shipped your order, you will be responsible for sending your rental order back to us at your own expense, along with all federal, state and local taxes, GST, fees, customs, and duties.

      To recap, one or more of the conditions below may apply when you cancel your order:

      1. Any cancellations made over 14 days before your delivery date will result in a credit to your We Wear Us account.

      2. Any cancellations made 14 days or fewer from your delivery date will result in a credit to your We Wear Us account. A $25.00 cancellation fee will be deducted from that credit, for keeping the item reserved and for limiting customers from renting it. Shipping charges may also apply depending on your case. This WWU credit can be applied to any future WWU rental.

      Is there a cancellation fee for canceling my order?

      Yes - only if you cancel your order 14 days or fewer from your delivery date. The cancellation fee is $25.00. Your credit will be in the amount totaling: (rental price + shipping charges + insurance fee) - (cancellation fee + related charges if any).


      Will I get a refund if I cancel my order?

      Yes, we do! In order to be eligible for a refund, you must notify us immediately shortly after delivery. Depending on the nature of your cancellation, a $25.00 cancellation fee may apply. Please email hello@wewearus.com for details.

        Can I make changes to my order?

        Yes! We want to make it as easy as possible for you to change your order, so please email us at hello@wewearus.com, and we can help. If your order has already shipped, you can’t make any changes.

         

        Returning My Order

        How do I return my order?

        Please pack all items in the original packaging or in a new, 12x12x12 cardboard box. Print out the pre-paid label emailed to you, and affix it on the exterior of the package.

        Drop off the package at your nearest UPS location by 12pm on your return date.  

        When do I return my order?

        Please return your order on the last day of your rental period by 12pm at any UPS location. If you have chosen to return your order at a partnering location, your rental will be need to be dropped off at that partnering location by 12pm on the return date. 

        What if I return my order late?

        A late return is subject to fees at the rate of $50 per day for every day that your order is late.

        What is your late fee policy?

        Here is our complete late fee policy:

        1. If you return your rental items late or do not return them at all, a late fee of $50 per day will be charged to the credit card you used for the order (or to any other credit card included on your account).
        2. Depending on how many days late the item is returned, you can be charged up to 200% of the retail value of the products you ordered, plus applicable sales tax. This late fee is in addition to the rental fee for the products.
        3. Late fees are assessed for each order that is not returned when due, not for each product. For example, if you have two items in one order, you will be charged $50 per day, not $100 per day, in late fees.
        4. If you have not returned a rental item within 20 days after the return date, your late return will be considered a non-return and WWU will charge your credit card or debit card the maximum late fee (200% of retail value), less any fees plus applicable sales tax that you have already paid.

        What if my rental ends on a Sunday or national holiday?

        Although UPS is closed on Sundays and holidays, you can still take your return packaging to a UPS drop box. If you can't make it to a drop box on your rental return date, please mail your order back by 12pm the next business day. (This only applies to return dates that fall on Sundays or holidays).

        If you have chosen to return your order at a partnering location, and that location is closed on Sunday or a national holiday, please return your rental by 12pm on the next business day.

        How long does it take to process my return?

        We receive most returns within 5 business days, and you’ll get an email confirming that your order has arrived safely. If you’ve returned your order early because it didn’t fit, and you’ve completed your Return for Fit Request Form, your credit to your account will be processed within 5-7 business days of receiving your order.

        How long will it take to process the refund of the security deposit?

        What if my items don’t fit in the original return packaging?

        If you cannot pack your items in the original return packaging, please select a bigger box to accommodate all items. Please carefully package the items in a way that you would for a close friend. Secure the box with appropriate sealing to ensure it does not come loose in transit.

        Do you offer personalized alterations? In other words, can you tailor the outfit to my body size?

        How do I choose the perfect outfit?

        Check out our Style Glossary if you’re not familiar with the different styles within Indian clothing. You can also use our Filter functionality (located on the panel to the left of the screen on all Collections pages) to filter by occasion. We’re always here to help, so contact us at hello@wewearus.com, and we’ll be happy to assist!

        How do I wear my outfit?

        Please refer to the ‘Stylist Notes’, ‘Size + Fit’, and ‘FAQs’ sections on product pages. We do our best to provide the 411 on styling and sizing. The product photography itself is a great starting point. If your outfit has a dupatta, you can style this in a couple different ways by getting creative!

        Should I wear heels with my outfit?

        A few inches won’t hurt your look! We recommend heels with most outfits to give the look an added punch, but they are not required.

        Is this outfit appropriate for the occasion I’m attending?

        We recommend an elegant look for the Wedding Ceremony. The Mehendi, Sangeet, and Reception are open to whatever you’re in the mood for. Check out our Style Glossary for a breakdown.         I’m confused about all the different styles. What are the differences between styles?

        Indian clothing involves many different variations! Styles are constantly evolving based on trends. There are stylistic differences between designs, but all designs are appropriate for Indian occasions. Reference our Filter functionality (located on the panel to the left of the screen on all Collections pages) to filter by occasion.

        What undergarments and fashion tips do you recommend?
